This image was taken on a trip to West Africa in 2003. I was traveling through Mauritania (above Senegal) in a town called Nouakchott when I poked my head into this small store and shot this image on my old Rolleiflex twin lens camera.

Talk about fun! I loved working with Sekou Andrews & Steven Connell for a piece on Poets.
These amazing poets put on a show and I documented them in action. Their words are quick, cool and rolling off the tongue. Shot for Forth mag.

Pony dog

Pony girl passed away on April 18th 2006.
Man I miss her, I would still be crying everyday if I would not have gotten Mouse dog.
I think Pony was about a year old here. I was living in Magnolia in a big house with an awesome backyard. Pony loved sticks and had some how cut her left eye.

I love this image of Pony dog. She is running, smiling and happy. Pony was never on a leash so as we ran down the street I held the camera in front of her to catch the energy. I had just bought an old touring camera that shoots a half a 35mm frame, so we were just playing around.
While I drove long distances Pony would sit with her back end on the seat, her front legs on the floor and her chin on the back of my seat. I shot this over my shoulder while I was driving East on I-90.
